Bezalel Ben-Uri Ben-Hur
You may not be aware of the name. Bezalel. Who is he? You may have skipped over his name as you read about the making of the Tent of Meeting. He is the first person we are told about in the Bible to receive gifts of the Spirit.
We meet Bezalel in Ex 31:1-5 (NIV)
‘Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills – to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.’
Phil Clarke, a part of the Jubilee family, has written an amazing poem about Bezalel, which we are keen for him to share with you. We asked him to record a reading of the poem for you to enjoy. Listen to him introduce the poem and the inspiration for it, before he reads the poem.
You may download the poem for personal use.
