Presence-Centred Church

12th November 2025 by Bernice Hopper

Presence-Centred Church

Our aim as Jubilee Church is to build a community of people who know who they are, who know what they have and who know what they are called to do. In previous posts we have looked at these areas with a particular emphasis on our knowing these things individually.

Recent blog posts have been celebrating Jubilee’s 15 years by looking at our culture. The talks on Sundays have also been looking at the culture of the church with various mini-series of talks, the first of which focusses on knowing who we are corporately as Jubilee Church.

Presence: A Presence-Centred Church

Simon spoke about why it is important to be a church centred on the presence of God and what the Bible says about being a presence-centred church.

Presence: Church is His Dwelling Place

Rob continued this theme speaking about how God has always desired a dwelling place with His people. This is now fulfilled in the church.

Presence: Enter His Courts

Tom took us on a journey through the various places of worship described in the Bible. He showed us what the Tabernacle and Temple courts teach us about being a church with presence centred worship.

Presence: Walk in the River

Rob concluded the series in Ezekiel 47:3-6 using the river image to show how we get in, stay in and swim in the river of God’s presence.
