Welcome!

Please read the following information and sign up using the button at the bottom of this page.

The Youth Weekend Away 2022 is on its way! Next April we will be heading off to Blackwell Court in Bromsgrove to spend time together, have fun with activities and games. Our focus will who God says we are from the Bible, what He gives us and what we are called to do as followers of Jesus. We will be running this weekend as a joint event between Shirley Baptist Church and Jubilee Church Solihull to build friendships and community between the churches.

There will be time for encountering God and hearing His word, praying with and for one another as well as plenty of time to hang out round the camp fire, meet new people, make friends and try out new skills on the outdoor activities.

This page covers all of the information you need to get to the weekend and home again as well as forms containing the information that we need from you. All of the details we think you need to know about pricing, transport and food are included but please contact us if you have any questions.

The Youth Weekend Away is tailored for all school years 7 to 13. It starts on Friday 8th April 2022 and finishes on Sunday 10th April 2022.

--- Places are limited and available on a first come, first served basis so book early to avoid disappointment---

Travel
Blackwell Court is situated near Bromsgrove. With the relatively short distance and to help keep the cost down we are asking that those attending the weekend make their own way to Blackwell.

We will be meeting at 5pm on Friday 8th April 2022 and young people will need collecting at 3pm on Sunday 10th April 2022.

Directions can be found at the Blackwell Adventure Website (blackwelladventure.co.uk). The postcode is B60 1PX and the entrance we will be using is the Campers and Coaches Entrance.

Food
All meals will be provided by our catering team starting with a meal on Friday night at 6:30pm and finishing with lunch on Sunday. Please indicate any specific dietary requirements on the medical/dietary information sheet. There is a small shop on site with sweets, snacks, drinks and merchandise although any money brought to the weekend is entirely the responsibility of the young person.

The Dining and Meeting Room

Accommodation
We will be staying in the Roberts Podded Village which are wooden pods with 4 beds, a heated towel rail and USB charging sockets for phones and other low power devices. Please note there are no 3 pin plug sockets in the pods. Bedding will need to be provided by each person attending, this can be a sleeping bag, single bottom sheet and pillow or a full duvet, single sheet and pillow set; it depends on the individual level of comfort(!)

Toilets and Showers are in a separate block very close to the podded village and there are plans for a simple toilet to be built in the village itself for ease at night time.

Activities
Blackwell Adventure has various activities and we have the following available in our activity slots: Giant Zip Wire, Crate Stack, Obstacle Course and Grass Sledging. Each participant will have a turn at each activity throughout the weekend.

Agreement
In order for all of us to get the most out of the weekend, there is a simple agreement that needs to be kept. Please read these and ensure your son/daughter signs the declaration.
Please read the agreement here

Payment
The full cost of the weekend for each person attending is £55, this includes the accommodation, food and activities.

In order to cover costs please pay a £20 deposit when booking which will hold your place. We will only be able to fully confirm your place with a completed sign up form, signed consent form and deposit.
