Xplosion TV
Wendy and Trevor have been on an exciting and creative journey through lockdown. Find out more from Wendy.
So, I hear you ask, where did Xplosion TV come from?
Well, sit back, relax, and I’ll begin….
Series One
Being me, I’ve always had this crazy dream, ambition, call it what you will, that one day I’d love to be on the telly. Lockdown hit (quite literally for some of us) and in a jokey way I suggested that we do a tv programme for the kids. I just thought it would be fun! We all need a good laugh every now and then don’t we, particularly in the circumstances we find ourselves in at the moment, which quite frankly have been and are really difficult, and at times very traumatic.
So we started series one with the intention of blessing the kids and having a laugh, and if I’m completely honest to fulfil my ambition of being a kids TV presenter. (There you go, that’s authenticity for you!)
Trev and I really enjoyed putting it together. We loved the contributions and the way it helped us all stay connected. One friend described the feel of it as ‘the fun we have at the weekend away!’ So as well as bringing some worship and teaching to the children we really hope it blessed you, made you laugh, and you got to see the funny side of some of our Jubilee family that you hadn’t seen before.
Series Two
So, why series two? Why the change of focus?
Quite simply, people (young and old) need Jesus and need to get a taste of His wonderful church. I feel so privileged to know Jesus and to be part of Jubilee Solihull, and it’ll come as no surprise to you that I’m really proud of Jesus and I’m really proud of you guys, my church family, and I want to show Jesus, and you lot off to the world.
God in His goodness, grace and love has given us so much, He’s given us Jesus. How can we not share this good news with those that don’t know Him yet?
Trev and I both believe that in some small way Xplosion TV has the potential for bringing the truth of God’s love into many homes and lives. Having it out there on the World Wide Web allows God to do what He will with it. It’s completely and utterly out of our hands and into His. How exciting!
‘No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. (Luke 11:33)
