Summer Series 2018: Jesus said ‘I Am …’

11th October 2018 by Bernice Hopper

Summer Series 2018: Jesus said ‘I Am …’

Our Summer Series of talks was based on the statements that Jesus made beginning with ‘I am’ which tell us what Jesus said about himself. Today’s blog post brings the talks together. Each talk stands alone but it is well worth starting at the beginning and listening to all eight talks in order.

Steve Wicking introduced our summer series with “I Am who I Am”. Exodus 3:14 Steve reminded us that what God wants He gets, what He says happens and that He lives in us by the Holy Spirit.

Jon Marshall continued with “I am the bread of life” John 6:35 He challenged us to ask ourselves how healthy our appetite is for Jesus.

Paul Norris began his talk on “I am the door” by explaining that some Bible translations use the word gate rather than door. John 10:7 He talked about Jesus being the way to the Father, our security and the door to the Kingdom and an abundant life.

Richard Moores’ debut talk at Jubilee was “I am the resurrection and the life”. John 11:25
He reminded us that there is always more with God.

The fifth talk in our summer series was from Joe Williams. He spoke on “I am the way, the truth and the life” John 14:6 He talked about life in the Kingdom of God and whilst he explained that the path to the Kingdom is hard he assured us that Jesus has done all of the work.

Simon Clay continued the series with “I am the true vine” John 15:1 He spoke about the fruit in our lives which is intended to bring glory to God. God’s work in us establishes us in Christ.

The penultimate talk came from Jon Hill. He spoke on “I am the good shepherd”. John 10:11 Jesus is the shepherd we have been waiting for. He will lead us into new things.

Paul Norris ended the series with “I am the light of the world” John 8:12, John 9:5 Paul talks about looking at our lives in the light of Jesus.

This has been such a thought provoking series. I hope you enjoy it.
