Introducing Chris & Tina
Returning to our series introducing members of the Jubilee team, let’s find out more about Chris & Tina.
How did you become a Christian?
Tina: A friend at work invited me to church.
Chris: Having been introduced to the life and teaching of Jesus Christ from an early age it was as a teenager that I made a decision to become a Christ Follower.
Who is your favourite bible character and why?
Tina: It is hard to pick just one, currently I am looking at Nehemiah .. all he did, a couple of exploits from Babylon to Jerusalem, completing the walls of the city whilst fighting the enemy, setting up worship and re-instating practices and principles not practised for hundreds of years. And then when he goes back to Babylon to continue being a cupbearer to the King [risky job] he ends his book with these words ‘remember me O Lord for good’ .. wow!
What is your favourite Bible verse and why?
Chris: 2 Peter 1:4 – because it tells me ‘I’m next of kin to the Godhead!’
How did the two of you meet?
At a Church Youth Car Event
How did you become part of Jubilee Church?
God told us to come in a dream.
How do you keep an appropriate church/work/life balance?
Tina: Serving, working are elements of my life but my focus is loving Him, being in His Presence and making space for the things He asks me to do. That could be any of the above.
Chris: By scheduling well, learning to say ‘no’ and making room for ‘me time’.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?
Tina: I don’t have a list of places to visit. But would go anywhere that God made a way for, think there’s a bit of a missionary and explorer in us all!
Chris: Siberia & China – I’ve had a longstanding desire to go into Russia and China to support Christian leaders.
Sum up your role in the church in 7 words
Tina: Happy being me doing what I do best – sorry that’s 8
Chris: ‘Spiritual father who teaches practically & prophetically’.
What is God speaking to you about at the moment?
Tina: Being authentically His girl
Chris: Spiritual succession, how my generation can pass on the baton to the next generation.
If Jubilee Church had a pet what would it be and why?
Tina: A dog, because I love dogs! Being unrealistic I would also be happy with a pet elephant or giraffe. I’ve seen them both in the wild and they are wonderful.
Chris: An Orangutan – because everyone is uniquely differently but loveable in their own particular way. Well you did ask!!!!
3 top tips for a long and happy marriage.
Tina:
Remember the promises you made on your wedding day to love through thick and thin.
Remember the promises you made on your wedding day to honour
Remember the promises you made on your wedding day to be faithful
Chris: Forgive the ‘spicerisms’ – but I’d say:
- A Happy Wife equals a Happy Life
- Difference is not wrong, its just Different
- Live, Love, Laugh and Leave a Lasting Legacy
Thanks Chris & Tina. It’s been great to find out more about you both.
